TATA TIGOR - style back to sweep other backs !!!!!

TATA TIGOR

Previously known by its codename – the Kite 5, the Tata Tigor is based on Tata's new design language, Impact design, and it has a slightly more upmarket appeal than the Tiago. Some of the standout features include smoked projector headlamps, dual-tone front bumpers, 15-inch alloy wheels and LED tail lights. Inside, the Tata Tigor features a 8-speaker Harman music system, 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, etc. Mechanically, it will be powered by the same set of powertrains as on the Tiago - a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that develops 85PS of power and 114Nm of torque and, a 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder diesel that puts out 70PS of power and 140Nm of torque. Both the engines will be offered with a five-speed manual transmission. Speaking of its rivals, the Tigor will sit below the Zest in Tata's line-up and will have the upcoming Chevrolet Beat Essentia as its chief competitor. The Tata Tigor price is expected to start at around Rs 4.2 lakh.

Tata is doing fantabulous these days, they are coming out with beautiful looking vehicles, isn't it? The Tiago looks absolutely amazing in its segment and all those hexagonal details that Tata had put in, makes it stand out among its peers. The Tigor, which is the compact sedan version of the Tiago, has taken the design of the hatch to a different level altogether.

The Tigor is essentially a notch-back version of the Tiago hence; it gets the same engines as the Tiago does. The petrol engine on the Tigor is up there with the rest of its rivals but it is the diesel engine which makes the least amount of power at 69 bhp, amongst the others. This could a spot of bother for those who are looking to buy a diesel subcompact sedan. Tata hasn't revealed the fuel efficiency of the Tigor petrol and diesel models yet and that could a pleasant surprise nullifying the under-powered 69 bhp diesel engine. Also, the Tigor is the only model here which does not get an automatic model in any form, not yet! We do believe that Tata will launch an AMT version of the Tigor sometime later.
Tata Tigor is primarily targeted to the customers who want to upgrade themselves from the hatchback segment. Also, the company sees a large potential in women buyers. Tigor is the third product from the stable of Tata Motors' Impact design language after Tiago and Hexa.
